Children like the two young boys were removed from their homes and placed with the same foster care family approximately three years apart. Both, with very similar stories. The first child was removed from a home with mental illness and neglect. He was developmentally delayed, which presented challenges for his growth. Through CASA's advocacy, he received an IEP for speech, occupational therapy, and infant mental health services. Meanwhile, the second child was removed from his home at birth due to substances, domestic violence, and failure to thrive. He, too, needed infant mental health services, speech, and occupational therapy in addition to feeding therapy. CASA knew just who to assign to his case! The CASA again worked diligently to get his needs addressed. Today, both children are thriving in a safe and supportive environment where they ended up as bonus brothers.
